Because Olivia made some nice dresses for the Baldwin sisters business lady Stella offers her a full time job in a dress shop. Because of the friendship she is looking for and the money she will earn she decides to accept the job.
But after some hard thinking she eventually decides that she wants to be with her family. At the end of the episode John asks her why she isn't going to town with John Boy. Olivia tells him what she decided..
and that she knows it for sure.

When they start kissing Grandma passes by and asks what’s going on. John says that they’re "smooching" and Grandma asks if they have to do it in broad daylight.. John only laughs…
